On November 15th, 2005, John Caslione delivered an insightful speech to over 600 private equity investors (General Partners and Limited Partners) at this year’s “SuperInvestor’s Conference” in Paris, France.
Caslione’s speech, “Now Is The Time To Globalise Your Investments” focused on these two topics:
- India: Chasing the Tiger; Beware the Tiger
- China: Charming the Dragon – Going Global
Audience participants were intrigued by Caslione’s overall message on global business and particularly on the subject of China and India. “The impact both of these economies will have on the world has only just begun” stated Caslione. He refers to China as “the inevitable superpower” and outlines economists predictions that the Chinese economy will surpass all other economies by the year 2025, including the U.S.
Caslione’s message provided strategies companies can considered as they are faced with ongoing competitive issues (globally). He recommended building relationships and strategies to work with these valuable economic power houses (China and India), as opposed to fighting them.
